Service days
Disclaimer: This is an old post I just discovered I never published, I just saved it as a draft. So when I say "today" I mean a day back at the end of August- Beginning of September time. :)
Mom and I today, It was sunny and windy!
This sweet little old couple let us take their picture, in their adorable horse and buggy.
Buying a snack on the square
A chicken and cheese burrito with onions, it looks good, and they enjoyed it.
A very amusing parade today
These men were part of the parade, they all just stuck their instruments out of the bus and played.
Livable conditions here.
Probably poisonous, but was Alyvia concerned? Nah
Those are gourdes or fruits of some sort hanging above these people's property.

Sasha and I, Mom was taking the picture
And these guys were scraping the center gazebo, we're guessing so they can repaint it later.
The Cat named Yzma
So last Sunday while Mom and I were sick Alyvia and Dad went to give a talk out in the capital, Managua, evidently it went well and a couple crapes into hospitality they ended up with a cat. A tiny cat with adorable eyes who was hard not to love. There were many arguments discussions about the cat's name, and Mom fought long and hard for Yzma (for those of you who do not know what this name is from, drop everything and watch The Emperor's New Groove, you will thank me later). Winnie (who we nicknamed Kronk for the week) LOVED the kitten, she constantly wanted to lick her face, and since Yzma was not yet ready to leave her mom she kinda adopted Winnie as such (rolling over for Winnie to rub her tummy like her mom would have), it was so cute to watch even if Winnie got a little rough at times.
But after some realistic thinking (the cat smelled, mom's allergic, and Winnie got worms from her) we decided to pass the cat on to another family in the neighborhood, but nevertheless I figured I'd share our weeklong cat ownership.

Nana and Aunt Terri's Visit
As many of you know Aunt Terri and Nana came down to see Alyvia's Baptism and then came back on the bus with us to Nicaragua for a week. We did so much while they were here and we have many pictures, but here are just a few of the highlights of the exciting week we spent with them.....
We took them to our favorite place, the laguna. It started off an ugly day, so we went to the look out. When we got out of the car the gray clouds subsided and it was clear enough to see the laguna and the lake, it was beautiful.
