Crazy Bus Ride

One day we (mom and I) got on the bus to go to the next town over for a study when the bus suddenly took a detour to a dirt road running a block from the main road. It was a crazy bumpy road in the middle of no where, we tried to get better pictures but couldn't.

So we asked the lady next to us if she knew why we had to take such a random detour. It turns out in addition to the month long holidays each town gets for their saints, San Marcos, Jinotepe, and Diriamba have a holiday where they celebrate their saints getting together by marching a parade along the main road. Random....yes we know. This is the crazy text my mom sent her study to let her know why it was taking us 30 minutes longer than usual to get to her. Everyone in town was all dressed up and ready for the parade and partying (?) I guess any excuse they have for a party they take (and when I say this I mean they do so even more than Panama!!).
